While not currently reflected in the W/L, the C-Team has made long strides in their season so far. Head Coach Jason Holmes and the C-Teamers has weathered through some early-season blowouts to catch up to their competition.

The best examples of this were the final two games in the NKC C-Team Tournament when they lost one-run ballgames to St. Joe Central, and Excelsior Springs (in eight innings). Those games exemplified the progress the team has made in defense, especially – making the routine plays and even a few that weren’t routine as well as timely offense and pitching.

Coach Holmes agrees, “The C Team has been steadily improving since the start of the season. Our last two games vs. St Joe Central and Excelsior Springs were both dogfights, but unfortunately ended in 1 run losses. The players have progressed significantly since tryouts.  Some of these players have never been on a team of any kind before. It’s nice to be able to have players that are a clean slate, that can be molded into what the program stands for. Every area of the game has gotten better in some way. Individual players are improving in all areas and learning new positions if it benefits the team. Overall the coaching staff has been proud of the way the players have responded to the challenges of #NorthtownWINS.”

The C-Teamers still have a ton of baseball left to play – with over 50% of their schedule ahead of them including an end of the year tournament in Liberty.

Catch the names on the C-Team now because they are the future of Northtown Baseball.
