People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.
The familiar POP of baseball hitting mitt filled the air in North Kansas City on Tuesday as the Hornet baseball team went outdoors for the first time this year to begin spring practice.
Under the giant crane constructing the new high school building and on the turf of the football field, the team worked on fundamentals, and began to knock the rust off with running drills and conditioning.
The practice came just over a month and a half until the Hornets first varsity game against Winnetonka on March 19 at Macken Park. Lots more to do, but it was good to see the boys outside starting to work.
