Hornets win their second in a row and fourth of their last five. Grant Lorenzen tosses a five-inning complete game as the seniors all got in on the action.
Northtown showed good plate discipline for the second night in a row amassing seven walks among five hits. They also took full advantage of six Grandview errors scoring nine in the third inning sending fourteen men to the plate.
On the mound, it was time for senior Grant Lorenzen to shine, holding the Bulldogs to only seven hits, walking none and getting three strikeouts and lowering his season ERA to under 5 (4.95). He also helped his cause at the plate with two hits including a leadoff double to start the game. Other seniors to stand out were Bryan Gallen and Brayden sell who both had hits. Tim Moment had a hit and a walk.
Although it was Senior day, it was not the Hornets final game at home. Thanks to the rain earlier in the week, Fort Osage will come calling a week from today in what is sure to have an impact on the conference standings. But next up for Northtown is arch rival Oak Park at T-Bones stadium. That game is Monday at 6 pm. Tickets are only $7 at the door so please come out and support the Hornets!
