Recap

Although the win/loss record doesn’t reflect it yet, there’s a lot to be excited about waiting in the wings for the Junior Varsity Hornets squad. In all phases, the Hornets through two games have shown improved offense, defense and pitching. In their opener game against St. Piux, the JV squad struggled early, but managed to pull to within one before darkness ended the game. In their second game, the Hornets were able to overcome a rough first inning to plate a couple of runs against an oversided Park Hill JV squad.

Their third game of the year will be against Oak Park, who JV was able to sweep last season, will be an even test. That game is scheduled for Thursday at 4pm at Oak Park.

The Junior Varsity level is all about getting reps, taking your lumps, but learning from the adversity – and the JV Hornets look poised to turn some heads as the season rolls on.
